This biscuit tin will be sold in a special edition of 2,022 in recognition for the Jubilee year.
Edward Roberts has since worked with Royal Collection Trust to design an additional emblem in the same style of his winning entry. The continuous line drawing traces the outline of the national flowers of the United Kingdom, with a rose for England, a daffodil for Wales, a thistle for Scotland and a shamrock for Northern Ireland. There are three new products featuring this design: socks made in Wales, a fine bone English china coffee mug made in Stoke-on-Trent and a tin of shortbread biscuits made in Scotland. Each of these products will be sold in a limited edition of 2,022 in recognition of the Jubilee year.
Reflecting on his new design, Edward Roberts said: ‘With the new design, I wanted to create a set of products that stayed true to and worked well alongside the emblem design. Like my original submission, the flowers are part of a continuous line, capturing the delicate nature of these national symbols. I wanted to create a design that was contemporary, and in keeping with these modern times. Having these products in Royal Collection Trust shops and well received by the public is lovely to see.’
